| The Volvo 120-122 (Amazon in Scandinavia) was not the first Volvo produced,of course!Volvo was founded in 1926 as a wholly owned subsidiary of SKF with Assar Gabrielsson as managing director and Gustav Larson as vice president and chief technical officer. They had since October 1924 worked together with the planning and construction of the first Volvo car, and December 16, 1925 Gabrielsson and Larson agreed in Stockholm. The factory was set up in Gothenburg and the first production car was seen at around 10 am on April 14 1927. |

The Volvo P 1800. This Italien (Frua) designed car was not so long ago officially revealed to actually have been designed by the Gothenburg designer and sailor Pelle Petterson.Most "car" people in Sweden allready knew this,but Pelle was not allowed to officially say so.
The first cars were made in GB (Jensen factory) with limited production quality.1963 Volvo moved the production to Gothenburg.After that the cars were called 1800S (Sweden)
